Abby's First Road Trip!

First let me start by saying THANK YOU to Mrs.Kelly Mann for re-vamping my blog! I was stuck in a rut and she came to the rescue! Didn't she do a fabulous job?

So this past weekend we decided to take Abby on her first road trip to Abilene & then on to Odessa to spend time with both families. I originally was headed to Abilene to get my hair cut (yes, I will drive all the way to Abilene to get my hair cut by Tobey because he is that good!) and we just decided to make a 4 day weekend out of it! Abby did exceptionally well in the car...she slept the entire way and never whined once she was placed in her kennel! I mean, we do have the perfect dog :)

The trip did start off a little rocky considering we left Dallas in the heat of rush-hour and the traffic was terrible due to the monsoon of rain we were having. Our 3.5 hour trip turned into a 5hr trip!
Here we are camped out at a bank drive-thru feeding Abby...

We started out in Abilene, where Abby met Lucy (my parents Shih-Tzu). Let's just say Lucy wanted nothing to do with Abby...I think she was a little overwhelmed with this hyper dog in her territory!
Notice Abby in her lovely pearls (Josh was totally opposed to this idea considering all he wants around her neck is the orange hunting collar!)

While we were in Abilene, my cousin was leading a Kadesh group at ACU and his wife/kids hung out with us for a evening. They have two *adorable* kids, Elijah and Sadie. I don't get to see them very often, so I was thrilled to know they were in town the same day we were!

Probably one of my favorite pics!

Next we headed to Odessa where Abby needed to meet Josh's family, our 21 month-old niece, and grandparents. Abby did AMAZINGLY well meeting everyone and playing with Josh's parent's puppies Buddy & Co-Co!
Meeting Rayleigh for the first time

Playing with Co-Co (Buddy was terrified of Abby!)

We decided to bust out the "kiddy-pool" to play in.

Until next time West Texas...
